Periodic Inspection and Testing! What is it?
One of our highly-qualified, electrically-competent engineers will test and inspect the safety of the fixed electrical installation in accordance with the required legislation. An itemised report will then be submitted on completion.

Why is Periodic Inspection and Testing carried out?Periodic inspection and testing is necessary because all electrical installations deteriorate due to a number of factors such as damage, wear and tear, corrosion, excessive electrical loading, ageing and environmental influences. Therefore:

1. Legislation requires that electrical installations are maintained in a safe condition and must be periodically inspected and tested.
2. Licensing authorities, public bodies, insurance companies, mortgage lenders and others may require periodic inspection and testing of electrical installations.
3. Additionally, periodic inspection and testing should be considered:
   1. to assess compliance with BS7671
   2. on a change of occupance of the premises
   3. on a change of use of the premises
   4. after alterations or additions to the original installation
   5. because of any significant change in the elctrical loading of the installation
   6. where there is a reason to believe that damage may have been caused to the installation
